Please note the Rules for Substitutes: a non-member sub may only play 3 times in total, for
a £1 fee each time; a member may play 6 times – usually 3 times before and 3 times after
Christmas. Once “adopted” that person may not play for any other team.
INFORMATION FOR ALL TEAMS
REMEMBER if you have to cancel a match, please do so 24 hours ahead and remove the fixture from the Table Grid. Another team may be glad of the space left. (If you live out of town a Dumfries player will probably help out with this.)
If rearranging a fixture, consult the Table Grid as to availability of a table; only 4 matches may be played on any night. Then write your rearranged fixture up on the Grid.
A player calls off and you have nobody else in the team?
Division 1 teams have 2 options: 1) Use a Division 2 player. This player is now your substitute and may not play for another Division 1 team. (S)he may of course continue in his/her own team in Division 2. This player may play for you up to 6 times during the season. You may have 2 such substitutes. 2) You may use a person who is not a member for up to 3 matches, at a cost of £1 per match.
Division 2 teams have only the second option.
N.B. Any team which wishes to use a new substitute after February must consult the Committee before so doing.
CUP GAMES All teams, in both divisions, are automatically entered in the competition in their own division. These are handicap events. Rules and handicaps will appear nearer the time.
CONDUCT We play to have fun! However we also take our games seriously so we all try not to make too much noise on match nights. We also stay out of other teams’ match space.
If there is a spare table it may be used as an extra match table, providing there are no members in for practice. Preference should be given to teams with younger players.
